On Monday, Hilde and I finally tied the knot!!! It was a quiet do, but very pleasant. A quick trip to the Tinghus (picture) and then back to the house where Hildes cousin Toini had prepared a lovely meal!!!

My music on a weird film from Brazil

A track that I had posted on my page at FREESOUND, that was called Koran Cats and Kids, has been used on this film by bagadefente in Brazil!!!

HURRAH, funny film too.. half the sound is from MY track, (including ominous out of tune piano, and pitch shift child, which I think is my step-granddaughter Lona) and the other half is a recording of a children´s toy... that actually we have too!! ha ha!!!

I´m pretty prolific now huh? This movie was shot late in 2007, and the music comes from last year sometime. The whole edit took about 2 hours, and most of that was colourising. I am very proud of it, I love to throw things together and see what magical things happen. In this case we start with various shots of show, including one timelapse shot where I went outside and dumped the camera on the car roof. Look closely and you can se the heat of the camera melt the snow, and "settle the camera". There is footage shot on my tram ride to work, and it culminates in shots of the chrismas tree. So we can say that this film shows the last day before Christmas.

We are having a very hard time at the moment. I was attacked by a biker from the next door motorcycle club, for no reason, we moved because we were scared to be in our own home, then Hilde was diagnosed with cancer. We have moved back home now, to make it easier. I am off work, looking after her and Nikolas and Transform my company, is no doublt, going down the drain. ha ha
...Oh and the car went wrong and the bathroom leaked...

There was an awful sound outside tonight, of some animal screaming in pain. I went out to investigate and some teenages were panicking by the side of the road. Aparently they had shooed away a Badger that was attacking a hedghog, and were very nervous of the Badger! I didnt see it, but the hedghog was lying there screaming, a really weird noise (I now belive that my stange beast in Denmark was probably a hedgehog). Anyway, I wrapped it up in a blanket and was gonna take it to the Veterinarian School (they have a 24 hrs service). Hilde called them and said that they would take it, but only to put it down. So we decided to wait till morning and see if it had died. 15 minutes later its was up and happily running about in the yard... Here it is coming over to say thanks before running off into the night!

It starts slow with film of crows in a tree, then gets fast as we walk for 2 hours around the lake, then, after a long cold day, I relax at home. A typical Norwegian Winters Day. There is The Beast, a very scary horror film shot in Denmark. It is based on an experience I had while recording some audio on my new H4 recorder. I had heard the neighbour playing violin faintly from the next door Holiday Chalet (we were on holiday) and while recording I heard a rustling in the tres to my left... Suddenly there was a low growl and I ran... accidentally stopping the recording as I went. Heres the recording.

As I mentioned, we are also eager that a resolution can happen as soon as possible. As we agreed at our previous meeting with you, we would like the divisions to happen at the same time and we still cannot see any reason why this is now impossible, as we have not received any documentation to explain this change from our agreement.

If this change from our agreement can be reasonably explained to us, we are not adverse to the two divisions taking place separately, but in either case we will require, confirmation of the following:

1. As agreed, that we will not incur any financial costs, practical or legal, as a result of the divisions, or the future development of the site.

2. That we may be allocated a private parking space, as also agreed upon in our meeting.

3. and most importantly, that the second stage of the division, if it cannot happen at the same time as the first (as previously agreed) shall happen immediately after the first division. With time limits laid out in some practical manner.

In our telephone conversation, you expressed to me that these requirements did not seem unreasonable, and sympathized with our concerns that without these written assurances from you, and the matter resolved quickly, we feel that our property stands in a difficult and un-sellable position. For this reason we hope that you can see why we would still prefer to proceed with the divisions at the same time as per our original agreement, unless it is absolutely impossible.

The last Vestiges of taste is the demo I recorded in 2002 when I broke my arm and had to stay off work for 3 months. We tried getting a release for it, and got lots of interest, including Nina Hagen, Dave Stewart and Boy George of all people!!! DOLE FILM - Re mastered new soundtrack ha ha

I just found this short experimental film I made in 1989, entitled "Dole Film". It depicts the somewhat grim but productive life of a lonely artist on the great British institution that is "The Dole".
In its day it was accompanied by various tape-loops playing backwards and at the wrong speed on multiple reel to reel tape machines. These loops were lost eons ago, so I searched my recent recordings and found one that simply had the correct length. Its called day 2 track 1 part 1 (available for download here) and it was recorded live, with Faustine Ferrer singing, also live, in Paris while I was in Oslo. The wonders of the internet!

Im finally trying to get my rack in a sensible and organised way. First by sorting out my pedalboard, which I never really finished, power supplies being the real pain in the ass, so i have splashed out and bought a flatliner, which hopefully will solve all my needs.
Then I have to tidy up my rack, this I am very unsure about. Either I buy a new rack with an angled mixer top to it (which I can't find except for the crappy skb ones) or I keep my current BIG skb OR I sell my skb and put all my stuff back into my old battered homemade and super back-breaking wooden rack. Advantages? I can drill it, hammer it, and generally mangle it till it meets my needs. PLUS it lloks pretty Mad-Max ha ha AND I can sell my old old SKB rack and save for new stuff (which of course will fill up my rack meaning I'll have to buy a new one...

Must remember to book some more gigs at Sound of Mu...
